A detailed account of Everlast Construction's (lic 986126) dishonest shady business practices

Everlast is taking me to civil court

Well unfortunately the judge granted Everlast Construction’s request to transfer the case to civil court. I prefered going to small claims since it would be quicker and simpler and then I would have some official documentation proving what type of company everlast is.

But if Ariel thought going to civil court would scare me off, he was wrong. Although it’s more complicated to go to civil court versus small claims, I’m still going to take them to court. Only now I’m going to increase the amount of damages I am claiming.

So all Ariel really did was make things worse for himself since at the end of the civil trial, Everlast will owe me even more money and a judgement in my favor will be even more convincing proof as to the type of company Everlast Construction is.

Can you provide more info, we like to hire Everlast what type of info can you provide? we really like the work they did on our friends house.

    • ilipsky

What extra information would you like? Did you read the very first post on this site? https://everlast-construction-sucks.com/everlast-construction-does-a-horrible-job-remodeling-a-kitchen/

      • Mr smith

We loved the work they did, why you spending your time do all of this? Today they tool us to mee 3 clients that loved them as well. By your respond to me I think you took it a litter bit to far.

        • ilipsky

Did you read the first post on this site? That will explain why i am doing this. They are liars and do not do what they are paid to do – they do not manage the work. All they do is call up subcontractors and tell them where to show up. They completely mismanaged my project, and the projects of other people.

          • mr smith

But i don’t understand how it could be, my friends did work with them and they are very happy, i decided to hire them they start today, i will keep you posted so far it’s clean and i like the guys. you want to get updates here?

          • ilipsky

What is the building permit for your project?

  2. mr smith

why do you need it? how can i find it?

    • ilipsky

to verify what everlast is doing – there’s a good chance you don’t have it since if you just hired them and they already started working, they probably don’t have a permit. And more then likely you’ll need one if its a major remodel. If you need one and don’t have one then the work they are doing would be illegal

  3. mr smith

of course they have permit they took it out the very first day, why you tell that the work will be illegal? i don’t understand what you doing here? they didn’t start nothing before the gave me certificate of insurance and permit was valid, how i know?

    1. i saw it
    2. i paid for it
    3. i sign it

i don’t feel comfortable to show you my permit info but i do have it, the demo is already done, it was clean and very fast work, they did it very nicely, i will update you more, i think that you had just bad luck, i ask about you and the only thing he told me was “we are not perfect, but we always try to fix issues, Ian didn’t let us fix the issues” he add and told me Ian report show 1200 dollars worth of fixing and we offer to pay or fix it, he choose pay we did gave him 1200″

i think it’s fair he didn’t try to hide anything he even show me the latter from the inspection, very little items that i think not big deal to be honest, i don’t know the full story but i am sorry that you had to experience it. I can assure you they are very good company.

    • ilipsky

Well, then i think you are lying to me and you are probably someone from everlast posting more fake information.

      1. If you just hired them and they just started working, there is no way they would have the permit. It takes a few weeks to get a permit approved.
      2. You have to submit plans for the work before you can apply for a permit – and it usually takes at least a few days to draw up the plans.
      3. It’s pretty unusual for a new customer to continue to defend a company they only just hired
      4. If you are legit and honest, why are you hiding your real name and your real email address?
      4. if you had a permit, there’d be no reason for you to hide it. It’s public record. I could search for all the permits everlast has applied for over the last few days if i wanted to waste my time. But I’m 95% sure you are someone from everlast and this is just more of your scam tactics.
      5. The report from the CSLB inspector was a joke – it’s going to cost a lot more to fix what they screwed up, and I will provide the estimates to fix those mistakes in court.

Allow me to say what anyone reading this should already know: Mr. Smith is an Everlast employee or manager. Why? Mr. Smith is a super generic american name. General compliments to Everlast, and then vague refusal to provide any specifics whatsoever. Clearly a plant. I have personally spoken with a number of Everlast people, including the “CEO” and I have personally spoken with the person that created this site. Want my humble opinion on both parties? Fine. Reply to this and I’ll happily exchange email and phone numbers with you to give you my factual account. Hiring Everlast for any reason without first reading this site and discussing with me or another ex-customer would be a huge mistake. My gratitude to the author of this site for making the world a slightly safer place for consumers.

    See answer below
    1. If you just hired them and they just started working, there is no way they would have the permit. It takes a few weeks to get a permit approved.

1A. Permit took 2 hours they waited in line for me and called me 30 minutes before they finish, was over the counter and i went to give my check for permit fee, i wanted to make sure we have permit and we do have permit.

    2. You have to submit plans for the work before you can apply for a permit – and it usually takes at least a few days to draw up the plans.

2A. The had plans because we didn’t had to change layout it was very simple plan that they did, replace old by new so it’s was very easy and simple. i think you should check you facts.

    3. It’s pretty unusual for a new customer to continue to defend a company they only just hired

3A. It’s also unusual to build website and advertise it in a pay advertisement, that is alone unusual understatement. You almost convinced me not to hire them and i think this is very very bad and makes me so mad that i almost give up and not hire them, i am happy i talked to them about it, i saw your kitchen it’s look great. CAN YOU POST SOME PICTURES OF AFTER? FOR ME?

    4. If you are legit and honest, why are you hiding your real name and your real email address?

4A. I am hiding my real name because i don’t want you in my stuff, i do hide my real name and i feel safe talking to you like that i don’t want you in my business as well, i own a business and it’s make me so mad that there is people that use there ability to build website and just hurt people. My honest opinion you lie on many things and i almost almost didn’t hire them.
    4. if you had a permit, there’d be no reason for you to hide it. It’s public record. I could search for all the permits everlast has applied for over the last few days if i wanted to waste my time. But I’m 95% sure you are someone from everlast and this is just more of your scam tactics.

4B. i hide my name for few reasons and i think that it’s very clear… look what you doing to people you know… it’s crazy action to do what you doing and it’s make me mad so much. i will work to protect them, they did great work so far ill give update soon.
    5. The report from the CSLB inspector was a joke – it’s going to cost a lot more to fix what they screwed up, and I will provide the estimates to fix those mistakes in court.
5A. report from specialist was joke? you don’t accept simple things like report from pro that show the full picture, i remember 1200 dollars in damage, i also saw email that you agree to balance of 8k and you said you not going to pay… 🙂 i think you are doing shady things.

I can tell you that i have permit, that they doing great job so far, i choose semi custom cabinets so they should arrive soon electrical pass, plumbing pass, window pass. i am happy form progress i am sorry you had bad experience but 1 bad experience don’t make them what you try to make them…

you try to make people not hire them? you know how many good people i’ve met that work at my house, that have families, kids? all of them know about this story all of them understand what happen all of them tell me they did anything to make it right…. i think you take it a little to far but it’s your decision and i understand.
i can tell you that they work for me for so little time and i love them, the attention, the perfection, the service and quality is very good.

    • ilipsky

Well, it’s hard to believe someone who hides their identity. I have not hidden my identity. I have also not lied about anything. The only people who have lied are everlast. They lied to me from the very beginning before I even signed the contract. Never once did they apologize or try to make up for all their mistakes. They only started offering me anything once i filed complaints. Unfortunately I didn’t know I was being lied to until it was too late and I had already given them too much of my money. I still think you are someone from everlast who is posting a fake review. I know everlast has posted fake reviews to make themselves look better. I have proof of it which I will post publicly on here after my court case is settled. An honest company that does good work wouldn’t need to post fake reviews.

And if i was so shady – i would just delete all these posts instead of allowing someone to defend everlast. The only shady person is the one who is hiding all their info.

I am not the only one who everlast has done this to.
There’s a reason everlast lost their diamond certified status.
I have an estimate from an actual contractor to fix JUST what they did in the kitchen and it’s thousands more then what the CSLB inspector found. That doesn’t include the deck which I haven’t gotten an estimate for yet.
It seems odd that someone who is not from everlast would have seen all these emails that were sent between me and everlast.
It also seems odd that you claim you just hired them a few days ago, and not only did they manage to get the building permit so fast, but now you are saying the electrical, plumbing AND windows have passed inspection. So you’re claiming they started working on the 26th, and in 3 days (unless you are also going to tell me they worked all weekend too) they managed to do all your electrical, plumbing AND windows AND got everything inspected too? No one is going to believe that story.

I’m not going to clutter up this site with any more of your replies since you’re hiding your identity and I think this is just someone from Everlast making these posts. I’ll be copying these posts and bringing them to court with me, along with the IP address that you posted from. Hopefully my lawyer can subpoena comcast and sprint to confirm the account this was posted from is someone from Everlast.

My guess: “Mr. Smith” is actually Mr. Balelli.

Having had work done on my house by Everlast, I can say that my experience was identical to that described in this website: in a word, horrendous.

Use this company at your own risk. Lies and shoddy work at every turn.

  7. Sad everlast customer

I feel you! Even though for us, they finished the work, the entire experience was extremely exhausting and unnecessarily stressful. No prior notice for us to prepare for the materials, so we had to make decision in one day. The PM has no common sense, and was very rude to customer when we brought up an obvious mistake they make. It almost feel like me PMing the entire project because he apparently made bad decisions for us, so after a while I visited the site everyday to make sure we were not screwed up.

I should have listened to my friend who did a project with them before. He said “avoid Everlast at all cost”, but at that time we already hired them. Should have terminated the contracted before the 3 day deadline, but Everlast demo our site right after I signed the contract.

    • ilipsky

Sounds like they pretty much did to you exactly what they did to me. My project was finished only because, like you, i had to take on the role of project manager. And like you, we had to pick materials at the last minute because no one scheduled anything.

If you don’t mind me asking, did they just do this project recently? I’m wondering if they are just continuing to abuse their customers. Sadly, the cslb seems to be kind of useless, but I’d encourage you to file a complaint with them anyhow. Maybe if they get enough complaints they’ll finally do something about everlast

      • Sad everlast customer

Yes, it’s a fairly recent project. One thing I want to add is that, every time I questioned the PM’s apparent bad decision, he shouted at me claiming that I have no knowledge in construction. I have never met anyone so rude in recent years, and the frustration cannot be described in words.

I think if the PM had treated me with minimum respect, I would probably be ok with paying extra attention to the project & pm the project myself. But he didn’t. I just felt betrayed, and I now think the PM’s attitude was just to scare me off so he didn’t need to fix the mistakes his team made. And he was successful – at the end we ended up fixing some small issues ourselves.

        • ilipsky

The two guys who were in theory managing our project weren’t really rude. Although there was one exchange where he got a little ticked off and acted like i was questioning his abilities. Which given their overall lack of ability to manage the project (or tell the truth) i guess i was questioning his abilities at that point. Overall they are just a shoddy company. You’d be better off hiring individual subcontractors yourself since everlast brought nothing of value to our project.
